Power Shifts In Web-Based Translation Memory

Abstract

The position paper that I translated is called “Power Shifts in Web-Based Translation Memory” written by Ignacio Garcia. This position paper was published in 2007 in Machine Translation journal Vo.21, No.1. Dr Ignacio Garcia is a senior lecturer at the School of Humanities and Communication Arts, University of Western Sydney, where he teaches and researches on Translation and Spanish. His current is on the deployment of digital technology to assist bilinguals to translate and everyone to interact in unfamiliar linguistic environments. His main research topics are translation technologies, translation quality assessment, and translation studies. Over the years, he has written several articles that published in different journals. Various practical issues that may arise in the use of TM are being analyzed in his paper.
