dc.description.abstract | The beginning of the nineteenth century witnessed many changes in the Ottoman state apparatus in terms of reconstructing political and administrative structures in a centralized manner and, related to this, the creation of a new bureaucracy. After Mahmud II had destroyed the Janissary Corps in 1826, he began the process by dividing the functions of the central government into departments and institutions. The most visible outcome of his reform and centralization policies was a more influential state in every aspect of life, which caused great dissatisfaction among the Bosnians in this period. | en_US |
