Banach-Tarski paradoksunun ortaya çıkışının gerekçesinin ontolojik cihetten değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Seçim Aksiyomu, ZFC Küme Kuramının dokuzuncu ve en tartışmalı beliti olarak literatürde yer edinmiştir. Seçim Aksiyomuna yönelik eleştirilerin en dikkat çekici olanı Banach-Tarski Paradoksudur. Banach-Tarski Paradoksunun ortaya çıkarmış olduğu sağ duyuya aykırı sonucun asıl suçlusu olarak değerlendirilen Seçim Aksiyomu görülmüştür. Ancak bu aşama Seçim Aksiyomuna yönelik eleştiriler devam ederken Banach-Tarski Paradoksuna sebep olan ve onu ortaya çıkaran sebepleri analiz eden çalışmalar eksik bırakılmıştır. Biz tezimizde literatürde ortaya çıkan bu boşluğu doldurmayı hedeflemekteyiz. Bu tez ilk olarak Seçim Aksiyomu ve Banach-Tarski Paradoksunun muhteviyatına ve sonrasında Banach-Tarski Paradoksunun arka planında yatması muhtemel sebeplere odaklanmaktadır. ----- The Axiom of Choice has gained a place in the literature as the ninth and most controversial evidence of ZFC Set Theory. The most notable of the criticisms against the Axiom of Choice is the Banach Tarski paradox. It has been thought that the main reason for the Banach-Tarski paradox is the Axiom of Choice. However, while the criticism of the Axiom of Choice at this stage continues, the studies that caused the Banach Tarski paradox and analyzed the reasons that led to it have been left incomplete. In our thesis, we aim to fill this gap that has appeared in literature. This thesis focuses first on the Axiom of Choice and the content of the Banach Tarski Paradox, and then on the possible reasons that lie behind the Banach Tarski paradox.
