The evolution of African nationalism from colonialism to independence

Abstract

Bu tez Afrika'da gelişen milliyetçilik ideolojisini Afrika'nın sömürge döneminden bağımsızlık dönemine kadar olan bir süreç içinde ele alıyor. Konu işlenirken Afrika kıtasında bulunan etnik ve kültürel çeşitlilik dikkate alınarak, kıta bazında gelişen milliyetçiliğin etkilendiği faktörleri, kıtada milliyetçiliğe katkı yapan olaylara ve kişilere de yer vererek konuyu geniş bir açıdan inceliyor. Milliyetçiliğin sömürgecilikten kurtuluş hareketine dönüşmedeki önemli rolünü göstererek aynı zamanda milliyetçilik ideolojisinin Afrika kıtasının geleceğinde önemli bir rol oynayacağını öngörerek dönem bazında gelişmeleri milliyetçilik bağlamında inceleyerek kıtanın güncel durumu hakkında analiz imkanı sunuyor. ----- This thesis focuses on the development of nationalism ideology in Africa within a period ranging from the colonial era to the period of independence. While addressing the topic, the ethnic and cultural diversity of the African continent is taken into consideration, and the factors influencing the development of nationalism at the continental level are examined, while also providing a broad perspective on the events and individuals who contributed to nationalism in Africa. By highlighting the significant role of nationalism in the liberation movements from colonialism, the thesis predicts that nationalism ideology will continue to play an important role in the future of Africa. By analyzing the periodical developments in the context of nationalism, this thesis provides an opportunity to analyze the current situation of the continent.
