İstanbul’da fahişe bedenlerinin ve fuhuş mekanlarının kamusallaştırılması (1908-1922)

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 1908-1922 yılları arasında İstanbul'da fahişe bedeni ve fuhuş mekânları üzerinde durmaktadır. Tez kapsamında son dönem Osmanlı İstanbul'unun siyasî, ekonomik ve sosyal yönleri göz önünde bulundurularak toplumun aykırı öznelerinden olan fahişelerin ve fuhuş mekânlarının konumu, sınıflandırışı ve algılanışı Osmanlı Arşivi ve diğer dönem kaynakları temel alınarak irdelenecektir. Tüm bunlar yapılırken fahişe bedeninin ve fuhuş mekânlarının resmî ve toplumsal aygıtlar tarafından kamusallaştırılma biçimleri ön plana çıkartılarak konunun toplumbilimsel tarafının da aydınlatılmasına gayret edilecektir. ----- This study focuses on the bodies of prostitutes and the places of prostitution in Istanbul between the years 1908 and 1922. Within the scope of the thesis, considering the political, economic, and social aspects of late Ottoman Istanbul, the position, categorization, and perception of prostitutes and prostitution establishments, which are considered deviant individuals in society, will be examined based on the Ottoman Archives and other period sources. While doing so, efforts will be made to illuminate the sociological aspect of the subject by highlighting how the bodies of prostitutes and prostitution establishments are publicizated by governmental and societal apparatuses.
