The article named “From Intersemiotic to Intertextual – A Historical Serendipity” written by Dalibor Kesić and published in the journal called Journal of Language and Literary Studies (Folia linguistica et litteraria) is translated to Turkish for this dissertation. The article is about intersemiotic transformation of the texts while they are being reborn and revitalized for new eras. According to Kesić, texts, media, histories, and works of art go through changes while being transposed to a visual medium and maintaining their originality, and these changes, which can also be called as intertextual interplays, enriches the semiotic content. To further his points, Kesic mentions many names from various fields: Roland Barthes, who was a French literary theorist that wrote on semiotics, and a philosopher; Gérard Genette, who was a French literary theorist that adapted the concept of bricolage; Umberto Eco, who was an Italian medievalist, philosopher, and semiotician; William Shakespeare, who was an English playwright, poet, and actor; and lastly, Akira Kurosawa, who was a Japanese film director, screenwriter, and producer. These names and their contributions to their own fields help Kesić to create a detailed analysis on how forms of art are metamorphosed to fit for new eras and beliefs.en_US
