This project includes the translation of the article from The Interpreter and Translator Trainer, entitled as “Situated Learning in Translator and Interpreter Training: Bridging Research and Good Practice” by Maria González-Davies & Vanessa Enríquez-Raído. The article first defines situated learning, then gives some details about its aims and aspects of situated learning theory and lastly mentions the usefulness of situated learning in translator and interpreter training. The article goes around the idea that claim, “Situated Learning seeks to enhance learners’ capacity to think and act like professionals.” (González-Davies&Enríquez-Raído 2016). Besides, it addresses translator and interpreter competences, situated learning principles, and the impact of situated learning on the role of translators and interpreters in society (González-Davies&Enríquez-Raído 2016). I believe having the Turkish translation of this article and starting from this article, making further research related to situated learning will contribute to the advancements of the field in general – especially translator training- in Turkey. This study will include aims of the project, the preparation process including the source text selection, source text characteristics, term list creation and tools used during the project, also in the commentary part, pre-translation, translation, and post-translation processes will be explained by mentioning some difficulties and problems encountered during these processes.en_US
