Theatre is a universal way of expressing emotions, ideas, and messages by body language, facial expressions, and dialogues. Translation/interpretation of theatre enables audiences from all over the world to understand a play. In theatre translation/interpretation, the source text of the play is translated into a target language and performed. However, the process of sign language theatre translation/interpretation is a little different from the spoken language theatre translation. This project includes the translation of the article Sign Language Interpreting in Theatre: Using the Human Body to Create Pictures of the Human Soul, which discusses the sign language theatre translation, the challenges of the translation and the performance process, and the possible solutions based on the previous researches, theories, and experiments. This project will consist of pre-translation, translation, and post-translation processes. In the pre-translation process, how, why, and on what basis the text was selected will be mentioned. The translation process will cover how the translation was done, the challenges, the translator preferences, and the reasons of them. Thereafter, in the post-translation process the translation check, editing, the meeting with the thesis advisor and the QA report will be mentioned.en_US
