dc.description.abstract | This dissertation project is about the translation and commentary part of the article titled
'The outward turn in translation studies' written by Susan BASSNETT and David
JOHNSTON which was published in The Translator on December 18, 2019. Susan
BASSNETT is both a translation theorist and professor of comparative literature at the
University of Glasgow, while David JOHNSTON is professor of translation and
interpreting at Queen's University. The article studied in this dissertation project dwells
on the relationship between translation studies and other disciplines by mentioning the
path of translation studies over time and emphasizes that it should be even broader
