The problems and differences in the Translation of Heidegger’s: “Sein und Zeit” “Being and Time”
Özet
Translation of philosophical texts provides difficulties for translators. Especially
Heidegger’s work “Sein und Zeit” (Being and Time) has a particular difficulty. His work
involves several concepts that are introduced new to the field. These concepts are even
difficult to understand by German native people. Research has shown that the problem of
translatability of “Sein und Zeit” is due to Heidegger’s experience with language and his
understanding of ordinary language. This research aims to present several translations of
“Sein und Zeit”, the decisions that each translator has taken and to show how to analyze
Heidegger’s concepts in order to demonstrate Heidegger’s language and philosophy as
accurate as possible. Philosophy in general, Heidegger’s philosophy, Heidegger’s
experience with language, etymology and the German language has to be analyzed to
translate Heidegger’s works. İstanbul 29 Mayıs Üniversitesi Senatosunun 22.06.2020 tarihli ve 2020/14-5 sayılı Açık Bilim Politikası gereğince amborgo uygulanmaktadır. Ambargo süresi dolduğunda erişime açılacaktır.
